Artist's Comments

Something I've been working on for the past few days, whenever I had some spare time (school is... not especially easy).

Lines: Joe MAD
Colors: Me (Monk)

//edit: changed the color of the ribbons and added a drop shadow from some of them.

This is awesome. You have mad shading skills! Aswell, the line art is perfect!

pro dude... seriously, or colors compliment mads lines quite well... due to the fact that you are both very angular in your renderings... I love the tone of blue you used here.

Very nice indeed! The shading of the skin tone looks just awesome! The colors work very well together!

both lineart and colors are amazing!

Both lines and colouring are superb! It's so great to see such work to this standard on DA. Did you learn your colouring skills by book, self teaching or from school out of interest? or was it a bit of an all rounder

I molded my initial cel-shading/gradient and cuts style by use of the SteelDolphin coloring tutorial and my own knowledge, experience (which was extremely limited back then). The painted style is completely self taught, by observing other artists and sometimes asking questions (but I try to limit those, allthough I don't know whether or not I succeeded on that field).
